Standing Orders
Thurnham Parish Council has in place a set of Standing Orders, which regulate how the Council conducts its business.
Financial Regulations
The council is responsible in law for ensuring that its financial management is adequate and effective and that it has a sound system of financial controls in place. The council’s financial regulations are designed to demonstrate how the council meets these responsibilities.
Freedom of Information Publication Scheme
The council complies with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 through its Publication Scheme which sets out details of council’s activities and recorded information that members of the public are entitled to have access to by formal request to the Clerk.
Where a member of the public seeks to obtain a copy of information included in the council’s publication scheme, the council may set reasonable charges for this as set out in the document. Costs may include photocopying costs, postage (where incurred) and the Clerk’s time.
Complaints Procedure
The council’s complaints procedure sets out how the council will manage an expression of dissatisfaction by one or more members of the public about the council’s action, or lack of action, or the standard of a service delivered. The complaint may relate to an action or a service provided by the council itself or by a person or body acting on it’s behalf.
If you wish to make a complaint, please complete and return this form to the Clerk.
Annual Reports
Our Annual Reports let our residents know what the council has been doing in their name during the past municipal year, provides a financial summary and looks forward to activities and planned developments that will affect our community in the coming year. The report is considered at the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council held each May and published on the website and available on request.
